Who Is MaterLotteries.com.au?
Initially, Mater Lotteries were established in 1954 in Australia (Queensland). The idea was to lottery real estate to fundraise to support health initiatives. It took off and slowly migrated into offering lottery tickets for an annual draw which grew to six draws a year through direct sales and online. Prizes went from just real estate to including cars and other things like store credits, cars, mobile homes, and other high-end items. Steadily they expanded the different lotteries they offered to encourage people to play year-round.
They have two lottery products available at the moment: Mater Prize Home Lottery and Cars for Cancer Lottery.
So How Do Mater Lotteries Work?
To purchase home lottery tickets just go to their site, complete your order, submit your payment details and get your confirmation. You can buy from one to one thousand tickets. The price starts with $2 per ticket and decreases up to $1 per ticket if you buy one thousand tickets.
All tickets are entered into the main draw of AU$3.6 million dollars home. Tickets are mailed to you.
Calculating the odds of winning a prize in Mater Lotteries can be complex due to various factors. The likelihood of winning the first prize depends on the number of tickets sold, which varies with each lottery based on the value of the first prize. Each lottery’s specific terms and conditions outline the maximum number of tickets that can be sold, directly affecting your chances of winning. Generally, the more tickets you hold, the greater your chances. Additionally, VIP members benefit from guaranteed entries in every draw and exclusive access to VIP bonus draws, which are only open to VIP members, significantly improving their odds of winning. These draws not only enhance a VIP’s chance to win but also add exclusive layers of excitement to their lottery experience.

My Big Problem with Mater Prize Home Lottery is they will not email me my 24 tickets.
Hi all.
Just stumbled across this site when I went onto the net to see if I could locate one of the old prize homes. One of my work customers owns one from many years ago.
To all of you from outside Australia, Mater Prize Homes have been around since Adam was a boy (seemingly). They are just a small part of the prize home lotteries that we have here in Australia. Queensland seems to be the most popular place for the prizes. We have many other prize home lotteries as well, Surf Life Saving, Boystown, RSL etc. They are all legit and us Aussies spend a load each year trying to win one. I only know of one personal contact who was lucky enough to have won a home but I have won a minor prize in one of the art unions. Don’t give up. PS If you want to know how many tickets are sold in each of the art unions, just contact them.
PPS Each of the prize homes is open for inspection during the promotion.

What I don’t get is, as a charity, if they can afford to give away all these prizes especially the million dollar home then why don’t they just give that money to the charity? It sounds fishy to me. I can expect there would be a lot of administration costs as well, given that they are also a gambling/sales organisation.
Whilst the Mater is a good organisation, there is a hidden ‘scam’ ticket sellers lead you to believe you are buying tickets in one draw but month after month keep taking money from your account. I have asked them several times to STOP this with no luck so now closing my bank account as feel there is no other option.
I know many others have been caught the same way, Mater asks for your credit card to take one payment but keep taking payments every month, so be aware of this.
Josh. Have you heard anything else back from Mater about your request to cancel? Also, did you ask them to stop via phone or email or mail?
Mater don’t seem to publish recent or past winners like other lotteries do.

I also have a Problem with Mater Prize Home.
I purchased 22 tickets from them for draw 266, they emailed me 6 tickets only, 7 phone calls, emails asking them to send me my 16 other tickets, they just won’t do it.
I have emailed them that I want my $25 refund, have not received an email about this yet.
I am an aged pensioner, they have treated me with dis respect over these tickets.
