Lucktastic Exposed — Can You Make Some Cash with It?

Lucktastic Exposed

Lucktastic Review

Looking at Lucktastic (assuming the conceptual use of words such as Luck is Fantastic) it all seems fairly simple and straightforward. This is an application for Android and iPhones for playing scratch games online. Even better, it’s free. So what’s the catch?

Where Do I Start at Lucktastic?

Of course, the first thing players have to do is download the App on their phone, set up an account, and then start to play. Ah – the catch! You have to be a US citizen to play. More on why shortly. Let’s go back to the games. Players win tokens that can be used to get more scratches. The token value (i.e. winnings) is between $1 to $100. What a player wins is divided into what can be used to redeem and what can be used to cash in. It appears, that cashing in means trading that part of your wallet for coupons. One article referenced Amazon Gift Cards though it does look like there are other advertisers that provide coupon rewards.

More at Lucktastic

Consecutive day play is encouraged with the US $5,000 a US $10,000 scratch cards. To “unlock” the US $5,000 scratch card, players must play five days consecutively. Ditto for the US $10,000 scratch card but for ten days. Oops, there is also a US $25,000 sweepstakes that have terms and conditions of play.

How to Claim Winnings on Luckstatic

Players can actually cash out their account as long as it is over $10 either by receiving a check (7 – 10 business days) or using a system called Dwolla. To activate this, click on the Four Leaf Clover. It will open a menu of options. If you don’t have a Dwolla Account, it will walk you through the process of opening one. Dwolla is a US platform for money transfers. It looks pretty professional though it does look like you have to be a US citizen to register.

How Does Lucktastic Do It?

Ah, the catch! Firstly, let’s go back to the ole you have to be a US citizen to play. This is because the site is funded by advertising. It doesn’t appear that this translates into receiving spam but instead prior to playing the scratch card, players are offered advertising to view. You do have a choice on whether you have to read before you play and it does appear that whether you do or not, does not affect winning. But, keep in mind – the more tokens you cash to play, the more advertising you are offered.

What Else?

Surfing around and reading some of the comments players have made, it does sound like the App itself might be a little sluggish, and/or your ability to play depends on how new your phone is. As I am not a US citizen, I couldn’t register to play, I did not find this out firsthand.

Lastly at Lucktastic

Given that you are not actually giving these guys any credit card details (it is free) and the game itself is very straightforward, there can’t be that many questions. But if you do, the operator of the site is Jump Ramp Games out of New York with a snail mail and email address, plus a Twitter account. There are no phone numbers. There are no terms and conditions with any information being provided only in their FAQ.

Is Luckstatic Legit?

If you’re into playing scratch cards (I admit it, I am) and you are a US Citizen in the US (and I am not), then this could be some good fun and winnings though it’s not going to be that mega jackpot. Then again, it is free. Lucktastic gets 5.5 out of 10.

  1. Played for 2 minutes won $1
6 minutes in won 900 tokens
    12 minutes won 400 tokens
    2nd day won 25 Cents

    • It appears that everybody wins $1 within the first couple of days and then $0.25. I have never heard of anybody winning anything after that.

  2. Although I am tempted to keep quiet about the author’s misinformation in this article about Lucktastic in order to keep the odds of winning better in my favor due to low membership, (ha-ha) I feel it to be a duty out of loyalty to say that some of the information contained in this article is incorrect. In fairness to the author, I believe this article may simply just be outdated. PayPal is the cash out partner that lucktastic uses if a player wishes to convert their points into a cash reward instead of one of many gift card choices. All you need to provide to lucktastic is your PayPal email address. There is not a minimum $ amount set to be able to convert points to cash rewards and then transfer to PayPal, however there is a minimum point value required to earn the first cash reward which at this time is 4999 points to earn 50 cents. I suspect the reason for lucktastic only being available to US residents is due to the great amount of fraud/scams that has/have taken place with PayPal by out of US residents. PayPal is greatly known to have this security loophole for out of US countries. Lucktastic probably wishes to focus more on continuiosly making their app better and better than to take on the problem or worry of having to vet fraud and so forth. This is not to say that lucktastic will never open its membership to others who reside outside of the US, or that they won’t add another payment partner in the future. Furthermore, this is only my opinion on this matter. It may or may not be factual. With lucktastic you have the option to scratch lotto cards or download and play suggested apps that are recommended for you to earn points for rewards. They also have special drawings and sweepstakes as well to win things like trips to awesome destinations and cool electronics, etc. There are many ways to earn points. Although I myself have not been fortunate enough to win any cool prizes yet, I have cashed out multiple times. I use my earnings to pay for monthly membership dues that I have and towards cool purchases online. The best thing I can tell you is to go check out lucktastic for yourself. Oh, by the way, there is a terms of service agreement that is shown to members when they download and run the app for the first time. It would be unlikely for lucktastic to never have had one in place as it protects them in many important ways and lays out all rules, guidelines, expectations, and rights. And you also are able to find the TOS Agreement in the menu for review.
I’ve played a lot of other apps similar to lucktastic and it is one of the best out there. Payment is always on time if not earlier than expected. (which is always the case for me, tyvm!) I don’t remember what the other subjects I wanted to correct about the article are and I’ve taken way too much time up writing about this. Feel free to research it for yourself and see if it’s for you or not.
I meant no disrespect to the author, but I felt it necessary to update and correct the outdated information.

    • Where is the PayPal option. I don’t see it anywhere? I have also never gotten any more than the bonus tokens for downloading any app. No points for playing and you can only get the bonus one time per app and the apps offers never change. When I first started, I got a 5.00 Amazon card pretty quickly because I downloaded a bunch of apps, but there are no new apps to download and the 5.00 Amazon card is no longer available. I won’t say it’s a scam, but it is a waste of time for a VERY small payout.

    • I’ve gotten gift cards instantly, as for the PayPal, incorrect, it is Dwolla instant payout. Never have won real cash over $1 at a time. When I first started using Lucktastic there were $1 and $2 cards, but they are gone now. Remember seeing a comment under a complaint on playstore that the odds were like real scratch offs. If that were true, at the time of the $1 and $2 scratch offs, I would have won more often since odds of winning a dollar on a scratch off are higher. That is probably why they are gone.

  3. Pros to this app: Free app, it kills time, you can maybe win a few dollars or a gift card, and you can enter several different times into contests of your choice.
Cons: Lots of advertising, there aren’t an unlimited supply of scratch offs (you have to wait to play them when they run out), to unlock some cards you have to install games, and you have an EXTREMELY low chance of winning anything.
This app can be fun, but if you’re expecting to win big money, you’d have better luck buying real scratch offs.

  4. I like Lucktastic. Don’t expect to use this and win right away. I’ve been entering sweepstakes for years, and it takes time and commitment. It’s all luck really but don’t give up. I work with a woman that just won $500 from Lucktastic. She just got her check this week.

  5. In about 7 months I have received 3 gift cards. A 20, 20 & 25$ Egift cards. Don’t have to be smart to get them. I’ll say this, more you download, more tokens you get. As for cash I haven’t won yet. For less than 10 minutes of my day it’s worth it.
