Gosloto 6/45 Review
The land of vodka and Red Square has a couple of exciting lotteries. The Gosloto range deserves special attention because of several reasons. You’re probably curious already, but to find out more, you’ll have to explore this Gosloto review.
Gosloto: An Introduction
Russia has been organizing lottery games for a long time, some of the first attempts date back to the 1760s. As time has gone by, the lottery in Russia has evolved. The Gosloto (Гослото) range by Orglot came into existence in 2005.
Orglot is the organization responsible for organizing the main Russian state lotteries and it was initiated in 2003. Only two years later, the first Gosloto drawing took place. There are several games to choose from in this range. The formats are 6/45, 7/49, and 5/36. The 6 out of 45 game is probably the most popular option in the Orglot portfolio.

Is Gosloto 6/45 a Scam?
Unlike other state lotteries across the world, Gosloto is entirely organized by a private company that has the support and backing of the Russian government. In fact, the creation of Orglot came with a lottery law and an agreement signed by President Putin himself. It really doesn’t get any more legitimate than that.
Like lottery operators in other countries, Orglot is responsible for supporting good causes. Its primary area of activity is sports. Some of the money generated through ticket sales goes towards the development of sports and sports facilities throughout Russia. Still, rest assured that these noble efforts aren’t standing in the way of winning a prize. At least 50 percent of the money generated through ticket sales goes towards the Gosloto prize pool.
This means that Gosloto is a completely legitimate state lottery to try. While the format is a bit different from what other national lotteries have to offer, the modus operandi is more or less the same.
How to Play Russian Gosloto?
As already mentioned, the most popular Gosloto option is a 6 out of 45 game. This means you need to choose 6 correct numbers from a pool of 45 for your chance to win the jackpot.
Players that have anywhere between 2 and 5 correct numbers will also get to enjoy a prize.
Gosloto has a minimum guaranteed jackpot of 50 million rubles (0.79 million US dollars). If there are no winners for the respective drawing, the amount will roll over towards the next one. Thus, the jackpot will keep on growing until someone guesses all 6 of the winning numbers.
The drawings take place three times per week – on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Some of the other Gosloto formats have their drawings on other days. This means that if you want to, you can play a Gosloto game every single day.
A single Gosloto entry will cost you 100 rubles (1.57 US dollars) if you are in Russia. Obviously, this price is a lot lower than what some of the other most prominent national lotteries will cost you.
Prizes, Awards, and Odds
Gosloto comes with a minimum guaranteed jackpot of 50 million rubles and 4 additional prize tiers for the players that have 2 to 5 correct numbers marked on their tickets. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 8,145,060, which makes them somewhat better than the odds of hitting the big prize in standard 6 out of 49 games.
Divisions | Matches | Odds to Win |
---|---|---|
1 Prize | 6 | 1:8,145,060 |
2 Prize | 5 | 1:34,808 |
3 Prize | 4 | 1:733 |
4 Prize | 3 | 1:45 |
5 Prize | 2 | 1:7 |
The biggest Gosloto jackpot won till the present day was the massive 358.3 million rubles (5.63 million dollars). This massive amount was won in February 2016. The lucky ticket was purchased in Novosibirsk. A second major jackpot fell in January 2015 when the rollovers had produced a sum of 203.17 million rubles. There were two lucky tickets and their owners split the prize.
The other prizes depend on the number of tickets bought and the number of winners in each respective category. People that get 5 numbers correct (odds of 1 in 34,808) can expect to split up 26.8 percent of the funds generated through ticket sales. Usually, the amount is in the vicinities of 315,000 rubles.
The prize pool for the 3rd tier is 14.4 percent and for the 4th one – 23 percent. The odds of getting these numerical combinations correct are 1 in 733 and 1 in 45 respectively. The lowest prize tier is a fixed one. It’s 100 rubles, covering the cost of a single ticket. The odds of getting 2 numbers correct are extremely favorable – 1 in 7.

Why You Shouldn’t Play Gosloto
Cons:
The minimum guaranteed jackpot isn’t that impressive in comparison to other large lotteries
Russia does have an income tax of 13 percent
Lower prize tiers aren’t particularly impressive
There are no bonuses or extra numbers increasing the size of the prize
Is Russia’s Gosloto Legit?
Overall, Gosloto is a standard lottery that doesn’t come with too many thrills. The lack of bonuses and extra numbers makes it a straightforward national lottery. Still, the 6 out of 45 format is a bit of a twist. If you’re into straightforward opportunities, you will enjoy Gosloto. The fact that its tickets have now become available to international players doesn’t hurt either.
Comfort
Gosloto is just a scam, the only way of winning it is to stop playing it simply cause the repeat numbers draw after draw they have 45 number and they only play half of them.

I like the format of 6 out of 45 numbers as it does increase the odds of winning. I also like the fact there isn’t a heap of options to have to decide on what to play. Then again, there is the 13% tax plus the lottery jackpot starts well below some of those other mega jackpots available internationally. I’m still on the fence whether I’m going to add this one to my game play.
