Daily Grand Exposed

Daily Grand Review

How would you like to be given 1,000 dollars per day for the rest of your life? If you’re already eager to find out how to become so lucky, you’re just like us. And while inheriting your rich aunt’s funds is something that could happen to you only in movies, Canada’s Daily Grand is something that happens in real life.

The lottery lures players with promises of getting some funds on a daily basis, for the rest of their life. Is this really so? Let’s find out.

Get to know all the cool features 24Lottos has to offer

Daily Grand: Introduction

Daily Grand is a relatively new addition to the pool of legitimate lotteries that Canadians can play. The first drawing took place on October 20, 2016. Currently, Daily Grand is run by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation and it isn’t available in Atlantic Canada. An extension is expected during 2017.

Daily Grand may be a baby in the lottery world, but it’s gotten popular quickly. The affordable ticket prices and the incredibly lucrative jackpot are two of the reasons why it appeals to Canadians. In addition to the top prize, Daily Grand features a number of additional awards that shouldn’t be ignored either.

How to Play Daily Grand

For a chance to ensure your bright future and become a millionaire, you’ll have to pick 5 main numbers from a pool of 49 and an additional number in the range from 1 to 7. Get all of them correct and you’ll win the Daily Grand Jackpot.

Each submission costs 3 dollars and there are 2 drawings per week – one on Monday and an additional one on Thursday.

Apart from choosing only 6 numbers, you can also play with combinations in an attempt to increase your odds of winning. A Combo 5 option is available and this one will cost 21 dollars per drawing. A more expensive ticket like this one, however, gives players the chance to claim multiple prizes per the same drawing.

Prizes and Odds at Daily Grand

The odds of claiming the grand prize are 1 in 13,348,188. In this instance, a player will be entitled to the jackpot of 1,000 dollars per day. Some players may want to get a lump sum. This option is available. If this is the player’s preference, they’ll receive 7 million dollars.

Numbers MatchedOdds of Winning
5/5 + Bonus1 in 13,348,188
5/51 in 2,224,698
4/5 + Bonus1 in 60,674
4/51 in 10,112
3/5 + Bonus1 in 1,411
3/51 in 235
2/5 + Bonus1 in 101
1/5 + Bonus1 in 19.7
0/5 + Bonus1 in 12.3

Daily Grand has already produced a number of top prize winners, regardless of the fact that it’s still a relatively new game. The newest winner is Pragnesh Saija who hit the jackpot on February 6, 2017. The father of two opted for the lump sum payment, receiving 7 million dollars on the day before his birthday.  The lucky winner said that he’d use a portion of the money to buy a first-family home for his loved ones.

But wait, this isn’t everything when it comes to Daily Grand Prizes. The second award is also quite juicy! People who get the 5 main numbers correct will win 25,000 dollars per year for the rest of their life. The odds of this happening are 1 in 2,224,698. If they opt for a lump sum payment, the amount will be 500,000 dollars.

Four correct numbers and the bonus one will produce a prize of 1,000 dollars. Four correct numbers lead to a prize of 500 dollars and 3 correct numbers, plus the bonus will contribute to a 100-dollar payout. Awards are also available for 3 correct numbers (20 dollars), 2 correct numbers and the bonus (10 dollars), 1 correct number and the bonus (4 dollars), and a correct bonus number (a free ticket).

The overall odds of winning a prize in Daily Grand are 1 in 6.8 – quite impressive, we’d say.

Some Information for Daily Grand Winners

As already mentioned, the winners will have to figure out whether they’d like to receive the top and the second prize as annuity payments or a lump sum. All prizes have to be claimed within 12 months of the draw date. Players have 60 days to decide whether they want a lump sum or an annuity payment.

When annuity payments are chosen, they will be true for life prizes. This means that the younger a player is, the more money they’ll receive. Daily Grand doesn’t set an upper limit on the amount that a player is entitled to.

If there’s more than one jackpot winner, the annuity payment option is not going to be available. Instead, the multiple winners will split the 7 million dollars between themselves.

Daily Grand prizes of up to 50 dollars can be claimed at any authorized retail venue. If the cash is available, retailers have the prize to pay up to 999.90 dollars. Larger prizes should be claimed from the office of the respective provincial authority.

All lottery prizes in Canada are free from taxation.

Can You Buy Daily Grand Tickets Online?

International players who are in Canada can play Daily Grand and claim prizes. This fun game, however, isn’t available to international players who live in other countries and would like to purchase their tickets online.

Why You Should Play Daily Grand

Pros:

This is a national game organized by an official entity

There are 2 drawings per week

The top two prizes are quite different from what other lotteries have to offer, making the game a lot of fun

There are both lump sum and annuity payment options

The odds of winning a prize in Daily Grand are excellent

Lottery players in Canada are exempt from income taxation

These are all lovely perks, but the shortcomings of the game will also have to be examined:

Why You Shouldn’t Play Daily Grand

Cons:

There’s no online ticket-buying option for international players to benefit from

Tickets can be seen as somewhat expensive in comparison to what other national lotteries have to offer

While the odds of winning a prize are great, the lower prize tiers aren’t particularly impressive

Is Daily Grand Legit?

For most people, getting a thousand dollars for free every single day sounds too good to be true. This is why some concerns may arise about the legitimacy of Daily Grand. We can assure you, however, that the lottery is completely legitimate.

Daily Grand is one of the games in the portfolio of the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC), an entity that’s owned jointly by five provincial lottery commissions in Canada. ILC was set up in 1976 and some of the games in its portfolio include Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Celebration, and Millionaire Life.

Each of the provincial lottery commissions is responsible for the management of games in its jurisdiction. This is why you’ll come across multiple Daily Grand websites. The one we’ve linked to is the official Ontario website because it features the most comprehensive details. Daily Grand is a really fun game and we do envy all of you Canadian folks!

There isn’t an awful lot of negative information about Daily Grand and we can conclude confidently that it’s an exciting game. While ticket prices are a bit high, the top awards will definitely justify the expenditure. Good luck!

  1. Nobody wins this. Not even free tickets. It’s another scam. It’s not statistically possible for no winners with the amount of sales. Another corrupt lotto from Canada!

  2. Irony is free plays always a trash and never hit anything, I spend almost 500 dollars every week but still nothing happened for me. If Daily grand authority is reading my comment, please make people life easy too not yours only

  3. No!
An insider computer generated algorithmic insider money making scam. Bring back the ball machines.

  4. I was an avid player of Canada wide (Interprovincial Lottery Corporation) lotteries, including Lotto Max, 649, Daily Grand and Scratch and Wins. I recently came across a Black Jack card that was a $6.00 winner, but when I went to cash it in last week, I was told it had already expired. I got the card on my birthday in late August of last year (2020) so the card must have expired before it was a year old, being as it’s early August 2021. I think it’s wrong that a person must cash in their winnings in under a year, and that it seems there’s nothing to stop retailers from selling cards that are expired or expiring soon. And then I started thinking. When was the last time I saw a Daily Grand winner? One would expect to see one every day, like the name implies. Also, why don’t they show real live draws for big jackpots like 649 and Lotto Max? Instead they show computer generated digital fabrications posted on YouTube. Also, why is it that the provinces with the highest amount of people on social assistance are also the provinces with the highest lottery ticket sales and winnings? Coincidence? I think not. After reading these reviews I will never buy another Daily Grand ticket, and I will only buy lottery tickets sponsored by charities in the province of where I live and check the tickets at the end of each month. Thanks for the memories ILC.

  5. I learned the hard way about this lotto, it’s designed for majority of people to lose. I use to buy around $100/draw until I noticed their quick pick system very rarely gives you the winning GN, I only won by picking my own numbers but still no luck after months and months of going hard. Literally no one has won the big prize since Dec 3/18, it’s now June 4/19 ?
Now that 649 and max have switched to the new system that is running daily grand I can assure there will be less winners I guarantee it.
    DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
