EnergyLotto Exposed — Lottery Provider or Cab Company?
EnergyLotto Review
Looking for a good online site for playing international lotteries can be challenging. It’s so important to check them out before giving your details and money to play. EnergyLotto.com is an online lottery provider for seven international games. It looked pretty straightforward until – yes the but – I tried their UK phone number. It’s a Cab Company! Now it is time to look deeper.
Games at Energy Lotto
EnergyLotto.com is an online provider for seven lottery games – US Powerball and Mega Millions, EuroJackpot and EuroMillions, UK Lottery, SuperEnaLotto, and Polish Lotto. Players can choose to play single or multiple ticket lines though there are no discounts for playing more. There are no subscriptions and no syndicates. The minimum deposit is €10. Players can only order 20 tickets per purchase though you can have up to 25 lines per ticket.
Winning
Winnings up to US$ 2,500 automatically are deposited into your account. Winnings over that might be manually put into your account, or you might have to collect them yourself. EnergyLotto will let you know how to proceed. Any winnings over US$ 10,000, the company takes 10%, which they say is to cover the costs of getting the winnings for you. Let’s go back to the fact you might have to collect the winnings yourself. Any taxes are applicable at source – the official lottery.
Getting Your Winnings
Players send a withdrawal request through their account. EnergyLotto.com says any withdrawal ‘might’ only available through the same mechanism you put money into your account. They say they will make best efforts to do another way if it is preferred though the funds may go through a bank transfer. There are no withdrawal fees (other than commission of 10% on winnings over US$ 10,000) and a minimum of €10 withdrawal amount.
Who Can Play at EnergyLotto.com?
The only restrictions on who can play on this site seem to be the fact you’ve got to be a ‘natural person’ of an age who can ‘legally use it according to the laws they are subject to.’ Oh, and you are mentally healthy. There is no other information, and EnergyLotto doesn’t seem to answer email inquiries.
Getting in Touch
EnergyLotto.com has a snail mail address in Curaçao, an email address and online form. Call the phone number in the UK provided, and a Cab Company answers it. Very strange. It is owned by a company and licensed in Curaçao. The “About Us” page is chatter about the fact their team is ‘built up with lottery enthusiasts’ and the site ‘designed with a lottery player in mind.’ There is no real information.
EnergyLotto.com and Other Things
There is a button at the bottom of the page which says ‘Other Languages’ though try clicking on it and nothing happens. Reading through the site, there is a sense that this was written by a person with English as a second or third language. There is also a mention in the ‘Services’ area that refers to a ‘free Quick-Pick Ticket.’ EnergyLotto says any winnings might be delayed as it is assigned to your Account based on information delivered to them by the Operator. Not sure what this is about as there doesn’t seem to be any other information on the site.
The Bottom Line at EnergyLotto.com
Communication is one of the essential things that are important in feeling confident about who you play lotteries online with. I’m still laughing at the phone call and getting a Cab Company. The other thing that got me wondering is, energylotto.com says they take the 10% commission on winnings over US$ 10,000 to fund collecting the winnings but that you might have to collect the winnings yourself. I wonder if they refund the 10% if you do have to do it yourself.
Pros:
Seven International Lotteries to Play Online
Cons:
No Subscriptions or Syndicates
Questionable Communication
Commission on Winnings
EnergyLotto.com gets a thumb’s down. There are a lot of great sites out there to play international lotteries online, but this doesn’t look like it’s one of them.
